After reading these quotes about "fields" and "particles", I had the feeling that there is something wrong with my understanding of our world. I couldn't figure out what it was. It seemed like there was some kind of conflict between what I thought I knew about the reality around me and what this quote was saying. After some long time thinking about it, I'm still not sure I understand it completely.

What I think is that this quote says that everything is fields, and that particles are just smaller versions of those fields. There is a sort of "holographic principle" involved here, which suggests that even though everything is made out of matter, the ultimate thing that makes up anything is really just a bunch of fields or vibrations or whatever. The problem with this holographic principle, however, is that if everything is made out of fields, then how exactly do you have anything? If everything is made out of fields then how do you have particle? Fields are just vibrations or shapes or energy or whatever else you want to call them. So how can something be made out of nothing? The whole idea behind this quote seems to be about how if everything exists in a field then nothing exists in a field.

That's clearly impossible. You can't have something without something else to make it. How does this work? I don't know. I think the only way to possibly understand this idea is to imagine your body as being made up of little vibrating pieces inside your body called "cells".

These cells are all made up of atoms which are themselves made up of even smaller pieces called electrons . And then, inside those electrons are even smaller particles called quarks . Eventually, these quarks are all grouped together into groups called atoms .

And then atoms are grouped together into molecules . And then molecules are grouped together into cells . And then cells are grouped into organs .

And eventually we get back to our original point where we started: bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and bodies and ... The universe appears to be made up of fields arranged in such a way as to give rise to matter which itself appears to be composed of atoms arranged in such a way as to give rise to molecules which appear to be composed of protons , neutrons , electrons , etc arranged in such a way as to give rise to galaxies etc.... etc....
